Introduction
University of Peradeniya (UoP) in 2012 initiates International Relations Office (InRO) as per the concept of the UGC to transform Universities as world class Universities in their chosen fields. InRO is exclusively dedicated to enhancing global relations and in facilitating students and staff members by providing resources, platforms and scholarly exchanges.
InRO has been functioning as a streamlining unit for all international exchanges and research of University of Peradeniya and has initiated and renewed links and agreements of UoP with several international institutions. The InRO, since its establishment, has worked towards expanding such relations and international partner institutions. The Office continues at promoting the research culture and global engagement of University of Peradeniya while enhancing its global visibility.
In the ladder of internationalization, Prof. C.N.R.A. Alles, Director and his staff come up with the concept of International Week 2022. It was put into motion with the purpose of increasing international relations with foreign countries, expose UoP students to international work environment and promote International Relations Office to the global context.
International Week 2022 will be a project of InRO. The InRO staff and the International Interaction Club (InIC) of UoP will be handling all aspects of the project. Currently the InRO has a staff of three persons. In addition, the assistance of the Management Committee Members of all 9 faculties and four PG Institutes, Department of Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Arts are expected.
