Meeting between Chinese Academy of Science and the University of Peradeniya

An online meeting between the Chinese Academy of Science and the University of Peradeniya was conducted on 22nd September 2021 via zoom in order to discuss the progress of current collaborations between the two institutions. UoP-UCAS collaborative water research programs, Joint degree programmes including joint Masters and Joint PhDs are some of the activities which are currently proceeding under the MoU signed between the Chinese Academy of Science and the University of Peradeniya in 2016.
Prof. Yang Min, Deputy Director, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Prof Younsong Wei, Director of Laboratory of Water Pollution Control, Research Center for Eco-Environmental Sciences (RCEES), Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) participated for the meeting from the side of Chinese Academy of Science while Prof. M. D. Lamawansa, Vice-Chancellor, University of Peradeniya, Prof. Terrance Madhujith, Deputy-Vice Chancellor, University of Peradeniya and Prof. Shameen Jinadasa, Director, International Relations Office participated for the meeting from the side of University of Peradeniya.
The meeting was started with the welcoming remarks done by Prof. M.D. Lamawansa followed by the greetings from the Chinese Academy of Science by Prof Min Yang. Prof. Younsong Wei presented an informative presentation regarding the progress of current collaborations between two institutions and the discussions were done regarding the progress of current collaborations and future activities that have been planned followed by the closing remarks by Prof. M. D. Lamawansa.
