The University of Peradeniya welcomed a delegation from the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IITR) on 30 September 2025 at the Vice Chancellor’s Office to discuss opportunities for academic and research collaboration. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Ranjith Pallegama, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya, together with Dr. Panduka Neluwala, Acting Director, International Relations Office, and Ms. Thushanika Pakkiyarasa, Project Manager, International Relations Office.

The IITR delegation was led by Prof. Kamal Kishore Pant, Director, accompanied by Prof. Vimal Chandra Srivastava, Dean of International Relations, and Prof. Sanjaykumar Harihar Upadhyay, Head of the Center for Space Science & Technology. Two representatives from the Office of the Assistant High Commission of India to Sri Lanka were also present.

A meeting was held on 19th September 2025, from 11.45 a.m. to 12.30 p.m., at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, University of Peradeniya, between H.E. Dewi Gustina Tobing, Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia, and Prof. Sanath Rajapakse, Acting Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya.

The Ambassador was accompanied by Ms. Lailal Khairiyah Yuniarti, Minister Counsellor and Head of the Chancery; Mr. Yadi Suriahadi, Counsellor; and Ms. N. Kasuni Malsha, Secretary to the Ambassador. The University delegation included Prof. Sanath Rajapakse, Acting Vice Chancellor; Prof. S.P.K. Malaviarachchi, Director, International Relations Office; and Ms. Thushanika Pakkiyarasa, Project Manager, International Relations Office.

Ms. Olivia BELLEMERE, the Cultural and Cooperation Counsellor of the French Embassy and Mr. Paul ROCHELEMAGNE, the Director of the Alliance Française de Kandy met the Vice Chancellor Prof. Terrence Madhujith on 28.04.2025 at the Vice Chancellor’s Office. Director International Relations Prof. Sanjeewa Malaviarachchi together with Dr. Ruwantha Kulathunga, Director-University Quality Assurance Unit, Ven. Dr. Jambugahapitiye Dhammaloka, Head of the Department of Classical Languages, Faculty of Arts, University of Peradeniya, and Dr. Priyadarshani Premarathne of the Department of Sociology also joined the discussion..
