Internship opportunity at Faculty of Engineering, University of Peradeniya

On the 28th of August, an online meeting was conducted via Zoom to connect the students from Polytech Montpellier Engineering School, France, with the relevant professors from the University of Peradeniya, who have graciously agreed to supervise them during their 17-week research internship in wastewater management.
The meeting was hosted and organized by the International Relations Office (InRO) of the University of Peradeniya, in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering. It was coordinated by Dr. Panduka Neluwala, a member of the Management Committee of InRO. This session facilitated the formal introduction and communication between the students and their supervising professors, setting the foundation for the collaborative research to follow.
The students, Lucas Chauvière and Hugo Chirat, will be conducting their research in wastewater management, with:
- Prof. Gemunu supervising Lucas Chauvière, assisted by Dr. Lashitha as co-supervisor.
- Prof. Nadeeshani overseeing the research of Hugo Chirat.
This meeting was a crucial step in ensuring a seamless start to the research internships, reinforcing the strong ties between the University of Peradeniya and Polytech Montpellier. The collaboration is a significant step forward in promoting international research partnerships and enhancing expertise in wastewater management within the global water sector.
