Tomorrow Technology Education Service Centre (TTESC), China, Visits the University of Peradeniya

A delegation from the Tomorrow Technology Education Service Centre (TTESC), China visited the University of Peradeniya on 17th June 2026 to explore and strengthen opportunities for academic collaboration, student mobility, and postgraduate education partnerships between the two institutions.
The delegation was warmly received by the University of Peradeniya and participated in a meeting held at the Office of the Vice Chancellor from 9.00 a.m. to 10.15 a.m. The meeting was chaired by Prof. Terrence Madhujith, Vice Chancellor of the University of Peradeniya.
Representing the University of Peradeniya were senior academic and administrative staff including directors, deans, and faculty members from Science, Medicine, Engineering, Dental Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, and the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS).
The Chinese delegation comprised representatives from TTESC and partner education institutions, focusing on expanding international education opportunities and strengthening academic exchange programmes.
Discussions focused on opportunities for Chinese students to pursue Master's and PhD studies at the University of Peradeniya in fields such as Science Education, Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Engineering, Oral Medicine, Nursing, Exercise and Sports Sciences, Rehabilitation, and Allied Health Sciences. Topics such as admission requirements, credit transfer arrangements, programme duration, and English language preparation programmes were also discussed.
The Vice Chancellor also proposed the introduction of tailored intensive English language programmes to better support prospective international students. Several faculties expressed interest in developing customized academic programmes and joint PhD opportunities with partner institutions.
Following the meeting at the Vice Chancellor’s Office, the delegation visited the Postgraduate Institute of Science (PGIS) for further discussions on postgraduate programmes, existing collaborations, and future partnership opportunities.
The visit concluded with both parties expressing a strong commitment to strengthening academic cooperation and expanding educational opportunities between the University of Peradeniya and Chinese partner institutions.
